Welcome to Regina Angelorum Academy: A Message from Patrick Boyden, President

Welcome to Regina Angelorum Academy

Thank you for visiting our website! I am honored to serve as President of Regina Angelorum Academy.  We are a faith-filled Catholic community dedicated to academic excellence.   I invite you as prospective parents to spend a few minutes learning more about our unique school.

Our Mission: Nurturing Minds and Souls

Regina Angelorum is a private Catholic grade school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade.  We are located in Ardmore, PA, just 25 minutes down the road from Center City Philadelphia.

Regina Angelorum Academy provides an authentically Catholic, Classical Liberal Arts Education that forms students in faith, virtue, and wisdom. Our mission is to cultivate young minds through a curriculum that emphasizes the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness, while nurturing the whole person—spiritually, intellectually, and morally.

Our approach to education is rooted in time-tested methods. We strive to inspire students to explore and reclaim the great ideas of Western civilization through the study of literature, history, philosophy, and the arts. This foundation not only prepares our students academically but also instills in them a sense of purpose and a lifelong love for learning.

Our Catholic identity is at the heart of our mission, and it informs every aspect of our school life. Each day begins with morning prayer (thanks to our partners at Magnificat) and reflection on the saint or feast of the day. Throughout the school year, the entire school community celebrates Mass together. Students also receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, go to Adoration, pray to the Rosary and Stations of the Cross and live out their faith through service to the school and to the wider community. At the start of each new academic term, our faculty and administration take a public Oath of Fidelity to the teaching Magisterium of the Church, recommitting to our shared pursuit of Truth and ensuring that we continue providing an authentically Catholic education.

A Proven Path to Success

The success of Regina Angelorum Academy is reflected in the achievements of our students and the strength of our community. Since we opened our doors in 2006, our students have earned millions of dollars in merit-based high school scholarships. Our graduates have gone on to excel at the region’s most competitive high schools and colleges.

Our faculty is dedicated to maintaining high academic standards while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. Small class sizes allow for personalized instruction and meaningful interactions between teachers and students, ensuring that each child is known, loved, and challenged to reach his or her full potential.

Parents are integral to our school community. Acknowledging parents’ role as the primary educators of their children, we strive to support them in providing moral and academic foundation to their children and families. Indeed, RAA is a truly vibrant community where parents, students, and teachers come together to worship together, support one another, celebrate achievements, and share in the joy of learning.

What Sets Us Apart

In addition to our classical liberal arts education, Regina Angelorum Academy stands out because of our commitment to a low-tech learning environment. We are committed to preserving and protecting the innocence of childhood and so families take the “Wait Until (After) 8th Pledge” promising that their students will not have access to mobile devices and social media. While this approach was once seen as radical, the social sciences (and society at large) have come to recognize the dangers phones and social media pose to young people. We intentionally limit educational technology in the classroom, instead encouraging students to grow and learn through research, writing, memorization, collaborative assignments and classroom presentations. At RAA, we’re proud to still use chalkboards in the upper grades!

Our curriculum emphasizes the importance of the “why” and “how” in learning. We encourage students to question, analyze, and synthesize information in a way that develops both their intellect and character. By learning from the great thinkers and texts of history, our students are not just memorizing facts but engaging in the timeless human pursuit of understanding. Importantly, our students also begin learning Latin, the universal language of the Church, in Kindergarten!
